Tasked with creating a basket and filling it with fruit at the beginning of the semestre, I chose to go the way of Julie... and make Fruit with a Twist. Or maybe it's Twisted Fruit?!

The basket was created as a bowl, but then basket-weave texture was painstakingly added. Daiken showed me later how to use a tool to create a similar effect without the hours of labouriously tedious carving. Ha. Next time...

I chose to glaze the basket in a dark brown, hoping the texture would add some interesting visual elements. I was wrong. My basket is just plain ugly and brown.

The fruit...

A banana that was thrown on the pottery wheel. I started with a doughnut shape... cut that into two pieces, then shaped the pieces into bananas. Of course the banana has a face... feet... hands.
